My name is Becky and I love weddings, they are SO MUCH FUN. It is so fun to meet with brides and grooms and hear the stories of how they fell in love and see them get excited about their plans for their weddings and the future. It is such a fun time of life to get to meet and get to know people. It is so amazing that no matter whether the bride is 19 or 65 she is all happy and glowy about her future husband. Ahh and the hand holding, kisses, giggles and laughs...it's just beautiful.
When I started staying home to take care of my first baby I thought I was going to die. I love him dearly, but staying home was a big change. I had just taught my third year of elementary school and had loved the pace and challenge of teaching children. In an attempt not to lose my mind in the midst of baby drool and messes everywhere I decided I was going to make wedding cakes. I have always loved baking and decorating cakes. I learned cake decorating by working at Baskins Robbins as a teenager a took additional classes in college. So I researched it and started to do cakes. I wasn't extremely busy, but it was enough that it gave me something to do that I loved and I earned a little extra money for my family.
I had been doing cakes for a couple of years when I had the brilliant idea to offer wedding invitations when my clients came for tastings. So I ordered a few of the big wedding books that have a myriad of invitations. I was amazed at how many of the invitations were just ordinary or ugly and I was horrified by what some of my couples would spend on something that wasn't that great just because it fit in their budget. So, I am married to an amazing graphic designer and I convinced him to design some invitations for me so I would have more options to offer my brides and grooms. My husband decided that if I wanted to do this he would teach me the programs to design whatever I wanted and it turns out that I love designing invitations. With a 3rd child on the way I decided to give up cakes and concentrate on invitations. I couldn't take the drive to deliver the wedding cakes anymore. It was so nerve wracking. So that brings us to right now. I design wedding invitations and would like to help you with your wedding invitations and stationary needs.
